Hello, we are Eric and Katina Strauch, the leaders of the Family and Couples Ministry here at Tabernacle of Praise Church.
The goal of this ministry is to help couples draw closer to God and each other through biblically based teachings, small group discussions, activities and the creation of a peer network to provide support and prayer in times of need. Ultimately, leading to the strengthening of the love they have for each other and equipping couples with the tools to overcome obstacles they may face as a couple and or family.
Our Vision : To build up and edify families and couples within our church. To restore and establish the family as the building block of the church and our community.
Our Purpose : Create an environment of love and fellowship for couples and families to grow in the depths of their love and relationships with each other and with the Lord Jesus Christ. To go out and positively impact our church, community, and beyond by showing the love of Jesus and using Godly principles to edify those that are around us.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (New Living Translation)
(9) Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor. (10) If one falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble. (11) And on a cold night, two under the same blanket can gain warmth from each other. But how can one be warm alone? (12) A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord
is not easily broken.
Some of the activities the couples ministry have sponsored include:
Sweetheart banquet, family camping trips, bowling and pizza nights, marriage small group sessions and monthly
couples gatherings.
Things we plan to do in the future include a canoe trip, attend a marriage conference getaway and to host or attend a seminar dealing with the ever increasing number of blended families and the issues and problems they face.
